was it the Smalltalk syntax (stuff in the brackets in Objective-C) that drove you nuts?

before D came along, I thought Objective-C would've been an excellent alternative to C++, but I have to admit that I'm somewhat biased - I like Smalltalk

I can't say I remember exactly what it was but I remember it being like a slasher flick, it made me think "One sick individual made this".
