I don't get the question. Why would want to create a template to modify something as concrete as a string. You know how to make a template function?

sorry . just make own revision . yeah i get it.
is when i copy the question i type wrong.
it's just normal template function.

then second question is clal us to learn str.erase and str.replace like that .
