I want to learn working with databases

hellow guys
I really want to learn working with MS Access database in visual c++ 6
so i ask you if you have such a simple code that teachs me the basic operations
for working with database (open/close connection, appending/deleting/modifying records etc...) and if you know some books for really begginer programmer with database I'd be thankful
