It is not "bs". Technical definitions are the basis of programming; you could not argue to the compiler about whether some code "should" work. You should have no complaints about technical definitions being used against you; instead, you should use the proper definitions in the first place.

You're on a forum where it pays to be technically correct. Words and their meanings are important here (and generally not though of as "bs"). Expect corrections when you are wrong. It isn't just for your benefit, but for the benefit of any others who might read this forum/thread and be misled by what you've written.
