How does adlib synthesis work?

It's easy to find the registers of the adlib, but I can't seem to find information on how the output signal is generated. I have the wavetables and basic registers from fake86, but I want to extend it to fully emulate the adlib. Anyone has information on how the waves are processed into output signals (pcm)?
