I need a new challenge

Hi, I am a hobby C++ coder and used some years now with Arduino. I want to say goodbye to wires and hardware and only code for the windows platform.

I am a mid-level coder and looking for a new challenge. I work with 3D and graphics in my day job, scripting for Autocad and 3DS Max is interesting but C++ is not the right tool. Don't know where to start making plugins for Gimp. Small practical tools for Windows could be interesting but that's more C#(?). C++ and game-engines is a good match, but maybe too hardcore starting with real-time raytracing?

I am looking for something that fun and if it can be used for something it would be a big plus.

So questions are, does anyone have an idea for me?

Thanks for all the help :-)

AFAIK plugins for GIMP are written in python.

Yes I would definitely recommend C# and WPF for Windows apps, though you have more options like VB.NET, FreePascal with Lazarus, Delphi, Python....
