Hello,
i have a(i suppose) quite easy task to convert following Microsoft sample from Unicode to MCBS (Multibyte).
It is the Microsoft DirectX SDK (June 2010).
I advise to do the convert splitted up, there are 3 projects which are completing each other.
First you should convert the project:
Microsoft DirectX SDK (June 2010)\Samples\C++\DXUT\Core
Second the project:
Microsoft DirectX SDK (June 2010)\Samples\C++\DXUT\Optional
And to the last (actually just one *.cpp)(I also want you to add a header file to this one "SkinnedMesh.cpp" file)
Microsoft DirectX SDK (June 2010)\Samples\C++\Direct3D\SkinnedMesh

With the correct search/replace commands this should be done fast.
But all at all i am offering a small payment for the person who want take this time.
