***contact Brent at breroger@cisco.com if interested*** Senior Software Engineer - Calendar Santa Clara, California Join the PostPath team to help establish a new Email SaaS (Software as a Service) business at Cisco. PostPath, recently acquired by Cisco/Webex and now part of Collaboration Software Group (CSG), has delivered the only non-Microsoft email server that features drop-in/native compatibility with Outlook, Exchange and with the rest of the email ecosystem - including Blackberry, Active Directory, and ActiveSync devices etc. The new mission of the team is to transform the existing on-premises email server business into a new “Email server in the Cloud” SaaS business for Cisco. This is a highly visible position where the individual will work in a fast pace environment, directly with interdisciplinary teams management. The PostPath development and QA teams are located in Santa Clara, California and in Sofia, Bulgaria. Responsibilities: • Create code that meets design specifications, follows standards, is easy to maintain and is reasonably free of defects • Estimate development schedules and determine project scope • Write design and functional specs. • Identify and propose areas of improvement throughout the software development process • The ideal candidate will participate and lead the decision making on the design and implementation of solutions that employ leading-edge technologies, providing system monitoring and administration. • Provide technical assistance and guidance to junior engineers • Work effectively in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment. • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders. Qualifications & Experience: • BS or MS in Computer Science or EE preferred with 4 or more years of experience. • Proficiency in C++ • Background in Linux or Unix product development. • Track record of researching and solving hard technical problems. • Proven track record of autonomously managing deadline driven projects while effectively managing stakeholder / team expectations. • Previous work on email (related) server products or similarly complex server-side software projects is highly desired. • Work experience with TCP/IP protocol implementations and TCP capture-assisted debugging is highly desired • Familiarity with one or more of the following is highly desired: LDAP, DCE/RPC, TCP-based authentication and authorization protocols, HTTP, ActiveSync, MAPI, MIME • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. • Ability to collaborate effectively with inter-disciplinary teams and management. • Motivated self-starter, with a high capacity for rapid learning and meticulous attention to detail. | |
