Postdoctoral research scientist (f/m) for scientific software development and data analysis

Forschungszentrum Jülich pursues cutting-edge interdisciplinary research on the pressing issues of our time. It helps to solve the grand challenges facing society in the fields of energy and environment as well as information and the brain. With more than 5,500 employees, Jülich – a member of the Helmholtz Association – is one of the large interdisciplinary research centres in Europe.

The Jülich Centre for Neutron Science (JCNS) operates neutron scattering instruments at the world leading sources ILL (Grenoble), SNS (Oak Ridge), and FRM II / MLZ (Garching), makes them accessible to scientists from other institutions, and uses them for its own research on magnetism and soft matter. The Scientific Computing Group of JCNS at Garching develops open-source software for the analysis of scattering experiments, and supports in-house and external instrument users. It cooperates in an EU funded network with homologous groups at Grenoble, Oxford, and Copenhagen.
