C++ Programmers Wanted - Full time/ Part time

A start up company working on a top innovative gaming project is looking for C++ developers on a permanent/full time basis located In Malta- EU (http://www.visitmalta.com) paying up to Euro35K - Any applications received from outside of Malta, will be accepted on the condition that the applicant is interested in relocating to Malta.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities
- Programming in the relevant languages (C++)
- Programming all the various game modules (artificial intelligence, sound library, display, networking and security)
- Collaborating closely with the 3D modelers as well as the graphics teams to determine various game constraints and establish each element accurately


Profile:
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Ability to meet tight deadlines especially within the first 6/8 months of the project
- Ability to program in a methodical and structured manner
- Interest in video games and in-depth knowledge of gaming culture
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment and a shared codebase

Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Maths, Physics or Game Development from a University
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
- Exceptional C++ skills and experience with object oriented programming techniques
- Strong experience in developing distributed networked applications that make use of protocols such as TCP, UDP, and HTTP (and security involved in these protocols)
- Background in game development
- Experience developing/optimising 3D graphics for low end and high end graphics cards
- Knowledge of 3D programming (OpenGL/DX3D)
- At least 3 years of programming experience in the video game industry - and at least a total of 5 years+ experience in C++ development

Distinct advantage if candidate possess one or more of the following:
- Strong 3d Maths skills
- Experience working with established, large-scale software architectures
- Masters degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Maths, physics or Game Development from a University
- Programming behaviour of AI characters in games
- Programming animations and sounds
- Programming moves of the elements of a game, physics of objects and trajectory calculations
- Knowledge of console programming (PS3, X360, Wii, or XBOX)
