At the IDAEA environmetnal research centre we currently have a vacancy for a programmer and one for a PhD student (that obtained MSc degree within the last 3 years)

1) PhD position
The candidate will carry out
research for his/her doctoral thesis related to numerical modeling of
hydrological flow and transport processes, using and contributing code
to the “Proost” simulator of fluid flow in porous media.
Knowledge of C++ or similar languages (Java, C#) , or a background in
numerical methods will be appreciated, as well as experience with
development tools (SVN, CMake) Candidates should hold a title in
geophysics, engineering, computer science or applied mathematics.
Payment will be in the form of a scholarship.

2) Junior programmer
The Spanish research council CSIC is looking for a junior programmer
for its IDAEA centre in Barcelona, Spain. Tasks will consist in
development, testing and maintenance of the “Proost” simulator of
fluid flow in porous media. The work will mostly be related to
computation and numerics.
Knowledge of C++ or similar languages (Java, C#) is required. A
background in numerical methods will be appreciated, as well as
experience with development tools (SVN, CMake) Candidates should
ideally hold a title in geophysics, engineering, computational science
or applied mathematics.
The positions will be for 2 years. Payment will be in the form of a
