I've been watching the release date getting closer over the past few months. Has anybody read the 3rd Edition and can explain what the contents of the book are? (straight technical things, exersises, stroustrup;s opinions). Is this a textbook?
It's the primary reference book for C++. It's re-written after each major language development: 1985 (covers Cfront 1.0 C++), 1991 (covers AR&M C++), 1998 (covers standard C++98), and now 2013 (covers standard C++11)
Is this a textbook?
no, it's a reference book, something to keep and look things up in
