I noticed a while ago on the home page that there will be source codes from the users coming soon. So, does anyone know when it will be put on the site?
I've also been curious about this. Whether they want to up the equipment for the site or have more coding to do who knows. I hope it comes out soon though. People will upload source code in Articles but articles over time get harder to find as they get older usually.
I am in favor of a fascist Source-code Section, where those who may post shall abide to a strict style sheet and must be able to write high quality code, which is then member-reviewed and throughly tested.
But that ain't gonna happen, for modern Homo Interneticus are more akin to solitary cats than to sociable apes.

+1 to that. Would be best if people post articles/source code submissions in the lounge or something for review before actually submitting them. I was looking to through the articles the other day and was surprised how many of them have obvious mistakes and bad habits. Though for some reason they get 5 star reviews...
I can understand twicker can't look through all the code for every submission which is why there should be a community driven review process like catfish suggested. That was misinformation and bad code won't make it into the actual articles/source code section and then people that are just beginning and learning from them articles or source code won't think that is how it is actually done.

Plus it's pretty hard for something to be missed when you have many people reviewing it. Un-reviewed source code would be a nightmare, as then we'd get
"How to make a RPG"
by someone who started C++ a month ago and is using global variables, goto statements, and the terminal.
Can't really think of anyone better to do the reviewing other than the community as a whole.
Even if it doesn't get reviewed before being published, low ratings should bring it up as a candidate for deletion.

Lol sorry I had to http://www.cplusplus.com/articles/3bqpX9L8/ (Though no goto's thankfully) ;p.
Wasn't meant to make fun of the poster he did a decent job for his skill level, just don't think that is the type of code that should be in the articles/source code section.

Not exactly. Look at the link above has as good a rating as some of the best articles on there like the ones from catfish which are very thorough.

Lol, yeah I understand what you mean. That doesn't make me think he's going to be a bad programmer or anything, it's just that IMO we need code that's a bit more practical. Compared to my first month of C++ when I decided I'd make an "RPG" in the terminal, that's not bad at all.

I guess it really needs to get reviewed first then :P
