Windows 8: it's decided to pss me off... again...

I use Windows 8, and from the start it and I did not get along. I beat it into submission (after a few months of figureing out all the weapons microsoft had given it... at least, they really seem to be weapons, anyway) and now it has decided to act up after a period of obedience.

I looked online, but I could not find any cases of this.

I installed a printer driver yesterday, and afterwards, the desktop had a shadow of itself. That's the best I got. I cropped pictures to best explain. Basically, it's like the dam thing took a screenshot of itself, and the entire thing used that for a background...

Taskbar looks like with the bug:

If I move an icon on my desktop, this is what I get... note: one icon is not real at all.

Thanks. I can't seem to figure out what to call this, so I can't really find much on it.

Hmmmm. Uninstall the printer driver, and see what happens. Did your monitor freeze on that picture, and get burnt?
I keep a keen eye on the state of my computer... I also don't think that this is a side effect of the driver itself. I suspect the installation of the driver to be the problem.

Also, if the pixels were burnt, it wouldn't show up in a screen shot... (-,-)

Of course, sorry. :D

Did you uninstall the driver yet?
nope. I fixed it though. I was right: a symptom of installation, not the program installed. I "set" my background pic and it straightened up.

- sigh- Wish I could go back to Windows 7...
