Nice :), what advice can you give me for a beginner on working out?
I would say that you have to eat... a lot... quite a bit actually, more than you would think.

If you decide not to, you will regret it. You would never recover, and actually start to lose any muscle that you begin to gain.

I've been lazy over the past month or so. A colleague got me into the TV series Game of Thrones. I'd have to say that I find 85% of it uninteresting, but there are four sub-story lines that I find interesting. In order of descending interest:

1) Jon Snow at the wall -- defending against badass mythological creatures. Wish the whole show was this storyline.
2) Bran Stark -- Worging it out with some mysterious mythological company north of the wall.
3) Daenerys Targaryen -- only leader in the show that's worth following -- has dragons -- and she's FREAKING HOT to boot.
4) Arya Stark training to be an assassin within a mysterious brotherhood -- she's the most badass 12-ish year old in the series.
5) Tyrion Lanister -- he's a dwarf. Witty and the only good man on the Westeros continent afaik.

If you can get over the fact that 60% of the show is nothing more than gratuitous violence and 30% is a soft-core pornography, you'll find that 10% is actually really entertaining.
Reading for me, Branden Saunderson is a wizard of a man. I suppose I'm also spending quite a bit of time trying to learn a language as well, but reading is an addiction.

@ Luke Leber The characters in the tv series sound very interesting, and I'm kind of curious of the girl because you used all caps to say how hot she is. I was thinking about starting the series, but wasn't sure about it, I think it I might give it shot. Even though you said the show is not that interesting.

@utifinitus I wish I was addicted to reading, I have a hard time reading books, unless they interest me but most of the time it's hard for me to focus on the events that's going on in any genre of a book.

Buy a concept2 rowing machine. At about $1,000, it's the cheapest piece of olympic-class workout equipment you can buy (the US olympic team uses them). They hold their value remarkably well so if you get lazy and sell it, you'll get nearly all of your money back. The workout is amazing.

The only drawback is the space requirement - about 9' x 3' of floor space. You can break it down and store it upright, but that's somewhat inconvenient.
@giblit
You wake up, brush your teeth, shower and start your job all before having a bite to eat? :o I'd be starving!
@Ganado Yeah haha, I normally have a breakfast shake or buy something from the cafeteria before work starts.

Though I work at 6 so I have to leave the house around 5 and wake up at 4 as it is.
