I'm new to this forum and I would like to know why the "Preview" function doesn't work properly ?
Indeed it gives me a blank area instead of the content.
Furthermore the "Code" button doesn't work neither.

It doesn't work properly for thread-starting posts, you are correct.
It's a known problem. Probably won't be fixed soon. You must type in the [code] and [/code] delimiters yourself on an OP.
If you get your formatting wrong, you can always edit your post and then the buttons will all work as intended.
