Robotics with C++

Is anybody aware of or uses Atmel AVR Studio? I just purchased new parts for a line-following robot that I intend on building. I used to program using Basic with BASCOM AVR but I now plan on using C++ and the AVR Studio from Atmel. It's just that I haven't programmed using C++ for a robot. I used Basic. So are there any tips you guys have for me?
