Convert BMP to Raw Image data

Hello there,

I am pretty new to programming in Linux and so don't have much idea as to how to convert a bmp to raw image date.
I know this is pretty easy in Windows environment :-)

Can someone share a sample code on how to convert a bmp image into raw image data?
