Im basically trying to learn and create a Instant Messenging Application. I know quite a lot about C++ loops, arrays, functions and etc. But I think I have to learn about something called 'Sockets' or something to do with 'WinSock' can someone explain what I need to research or copy a couple of links into this topic.
