i am a beginner and i have no idea about this program i just copy paste it in code blocks and in the line 65 DrawText (hdc, TEXT ("Hello, Windows 98!"), −1, &rect, it is showing
error: stray '\342' in program
error: stray '\210' in program
error: stray '\222' in program
what to do??

That looks like a modification of Charles Petzold's "Hello, Windows 98" program. I haven't spotted your problem, likely in part due to your not using code tags, which help greatly with readability, but in all the versions of Code::Blocks I have you can do without the #defines at top. In any case, I use these instead...

#ifndef UNICODE
#define UNICODE

#ifndef _UNICODE

Unless they have changed things, the CodeBlocks folks haven't predefined UNICODE like Microsoft did in VStudio.

You could possibly have the wrong quotes. They have to be double quotes " and not the angled ones. Same with apostrophe it has to be ' and not the angled ones.

Edit:
Are you using MS Word or something to write the code in? I think the special quotes are called "Smart quotes" or something like that.

Actually I found the character...It is the DrawText (hdc, TEXT ("Hello, Windows 98!"), 1, &rect,

Notice the difference between these two (yours) and (normal) -
