ELearning provides employees with the same opportunities for self-learning that they would have in a traditional classroom setting. In addition to the immediate benefits of eLearning, another advantage to incorporating this type of employee training into your employee training programs is the increased productivity that results. As mentioned previously, eLearning eliminates the need for one-on-one instruction. Employees who are given one-on-one training are more likely to retain it. Employees who receive instruction from a trainer, or are taught by someone who has experience in the task, are more likely to retain the information. However, it is not uncommon for employees to forget what they were taught if they receive instruction in a "on-the-job" setting. When this occurs, it can result in lost time, wasted effort and even employee injuries. The internet can offer many benefits to workforce training programs. One of these benefits is the creation of an online learning environment that is highly effective. Employers can view the training programs offered by their organization and interact with the individuals who are completing it. The learning experience is more effective when there is interaction with others. The greatest benefit of elearning for employee training is the elimination or reduction of travel expenses. Employees don't have to travel to attend in-person classes. They can learn online without additional cost. Many companies now offer online training to their employees. In today's highly competitive marketplace it is important to stay ahead of your competition by staying on top of the most recent educational trends. |
