Airbnb supplies Host Protection Insurance which protects Airbnb hosts and even property owners throughout the world. It largely focuses on securing the host and/or landlord against responsibility when cases are brought by third parties, such as a neighbor and including visitors that stay at the location. Coverage runs up to $1 million USD per occurrence in case of building damage or personal injury. Provided in the insurance are common areas like entrance halls or elevators. Airbnb insurance is mainly liability insurance that secures the host, property owner or homeowners association from claims brought by a guest to cover points like damage to the property or an accident suffered during their stay in the home. There are many things, nonetheless, that are not covered by Airbnb insurance coverage. The Airbnb Host Protection plan is just for liability as stated above. It does not include things such as property damage that is willful, instead of unintended. Nor does it cover residential property damage such as mold and mildew or pollution. And it also does not cover loss of revenues. So think of if a flood or fire takes place during a visitor's stay and you are unable to rent out the space till mitigation is complete. Not having coverage to compensate you for both damages to the residential property or loss of revenue can be devastating to your earnings. |
