I'm sighing 😩

http://lelouchsvoice.ddns.net/

I created a stupid little website a long time ago and just recently published it. The main point was to get familiar with Angular, since so many jobs in my area want full stack developers.

Making the website made me think that it was cool to do, but not sure how'd I'd feel about coding stuff like that as a job. My plan is to connect the website to a database so I can incorporate PHP and mySQL.

Then I also think I should perhaps get more familiar with Python and all the cool things that are possible with that.

What languages do you guys use in your jobs? What do you guys learn to do in free time?

And while you're here, why not look at this ad I voiced recently too:

Had no idea it was for a Casino game when I voiced it. There were a few other apps I did character voices for that I can't find, I wish they'd give me the name of the app when they hire me!! I always have to hunt them down.

the full stack guys I worked with recently had to do things like
write sql blocks
deal with kafka and ksql, half baked tools that shuffle data between systems
create services (webservices)
load up the databases (programs that run every few min or nonstop stream to pull changes in)
reform data between systems (this one has all the names in all caps, the new one just wants proper caps for the name including McName type, or whatever formatting changes)
deal with antique systems where the data is exceedingly hard to access
do data analysis, eg figure out how to access the funky systems
design new flows end to end

every place is different. Some you do web stuff for the public, some you do internal data shuffling, some you work in one ecosystem, some a dozen, ... there sadly isnt a good way to prepare yourself for a specific job so much as run down a job that you are already qualified for. No amount of prep will match the requirements for enough jobs to work, but there are jobs out there for what you are strong at doing, in other words.

That sounds dreadful xD And yea, I can never be fully qualified, but also stuck trying to figure out how to look more appealing.

I'll probably just stop worrying about that and go to the University and bug their career center until they find me a job.
