defining #GLEW_STATIC allows program to build but stops responding

I'm learning OpenGL now and I'm trying to run some of the source code that it comes with. So I set up my links and changed the includes to what I need them to be, which fixed the first few errors.
Now I'm stuck because I had an error that wouldn't stop until I defined GLEW_STATIC in the .cpp.
Once I started the program after adding that it would build but as soon as the window for the triangle would appear the window would stop responding and return 255.
I'm also getting a warning saying "corrupt .drectve at end of file

Here's the code I'm using:

My linker order.

glew32s.lib

libglfw.a
OPENGL32.LIB

Am I missing a linker or something?

Please help.

Most likely you are using libraries compiled for use with a different compiler than the one you're using.
