Is there a way to use my existing function for something new?

This assignment was homework. It was creating a new alphabet to look like barbed wire fencing. The assignment was to loop the letters of the alphabet, the Arabic numbers, and some punctuation through a loop and cout the appropriate new character in the barbed wire alphabet.

I'm trying to take it a little further and use the alphabetsoup function shown below to accept an entire string sentence and cycle it through.
(I know that it would've been better to use an array, but it wasn't allowed.)

Make a function where you loop through the input, which is sent in this case, and print appropriate sequence of characters by comparing the iterating variableth index of sent. ;)
