IDE break down

This is my 3rd successive day at trying to install MS VS C++ 2010, and it still does not run.

Each time after re-installing I get the following error -

'The automatically saved settings file 'C:\...\visual studio 2010\settings\c++express\CurrentSettings.vssettings' cannot be found.
You can change this file on the 'Imprt and Export Settings' Tools Options page.
The IDE will use your most recent settings for this sesion.
'

Nothing compiles, all programs say fail in compilation.
What should I do? I really want to learn C++...
Maybe just try a differant compiler.
