A new problem domain

Hi,

My current experience with C++ isn't diverse- its more or less been restricted to simple command line programs as practice with some (trivial) GUI experience. I'm hoping to change that and learn more of the Windows/Linux APIs as well as networking. I'm looking for a tutorial, or something which would, in addition to answer questions and share expertise, while, more importantly, suggest programs/exercises suitable to learn these concepts.

Does anyone have any recommendations for such a guide? Thanks in advance.

i havent used the windows api much (qt fan ;) ) but as for the linux api, i havent found much on it (i assume we are talking about whats in the sys directory). as too networking, the api is going to vary from library to library so i would google something like basic networking fundamentals
