I want to read a text file and if my programe reads a period (.) , it should write that data on next line and move on to read the next sentence.

i know how to read a write data from a text file but accomplishing this task is confusing now !!

Its a school assignment so please Help !

can you lis what you got so far - ie reading file and displaying normally.

You can't really ask a forum for help on assignments but I believe that you can use getline.
