Best GUI & Toolkit for 64-bit computers

Hi Everyone,

I'm new here (probably obvious) and I've read a few threads about GUI programming and opinions on what may or may not be appropriate toolkits and/or interfaces.

I have tried pretty much all of yesterday to get Qt to work with my 64-bit computer, but from everything I've read it doesn't look like there is much support in that arena. Therefore, I would like to know what your suggestion would be in regard to an alternative.

I'm looking at GTK+ & Glade, but for someone who is never programmed C++ with GUI, is this the right one? Or, is there a better one out there?
