Computer Systems Analyst

MDA Information Systems LLC has an immediate opening for a Mid-level Integration Engineer to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to work on projects that support some of our nation’s fundamental defense services. MDA employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams on various technical projects associated with our core mission. The Mid-level Integration Engineer will enhance their skill set by working among a talented and technically accomplished group of colleagues. Engineers enjoy a flexible work environment, where contributions are recognized and rewarded. Position is available in either the Washington DC Metro Area or in Ypsilanti, MI. Michigan-based employees will need to be able to travel between 10-20% of their time.

We build satellite ground systems that enable users to acquire and process imagery from the most sophisticated Earth-observing satellites in the world: much of the satellite imagery that you see on Google Maps was generated by our software!

To be qualified you must be a US Citizen and have an active TS/SCI Clearance

Job Requirements
Primary tasking will include design, deployment, configuration and maintenance of cloud infrastructures, creating and maintaining well-formed HCI - web applications, improving automated testing frameworks for cutting-edge algorithms, making existing code more flexible and maintainable as well as identifying and eliminating bottlenecks in the current production pipeline. Tasks will generally be integration-oriented, meaning the candidate will need to be adept at both hardware and software aspects, understand computer networking, virtualization, Internet communication standards, web services, operating system configuration, IT security, scripting of 3rd party software packages, and many other hands-on DIY activities beyond simply designing and writing code. Common sense problem-solving intuition, product research abilities, self-reliance, and the dedication to perform work outside normal business hours when needed are critical.

* Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT Systems, or similar field
* 5 years of work experience in software or IT engineering
* Proficiency in Python, Java, JavaScript, Perl, or other equivalent language.
* Proficiency in HTLM5 and/or Flex, PostgreSQL/SQL, NOSQL databases, and Web Services (RESTful)
* Proficiency with server configuration at all levels of the software stack (e.g. hypervisors, operating systems, web & application servers, databases, networking, and PKI security)
* Experience with Apache Flex, Citrix XenServer & XenDesktop, VMWare, Apache Accumulo, Esri ArcGIS Server 10.x, Apache Tomcat, and C++ are all pluses
