Algorithm and Software Engineer

MDA Information Systems LLC is looking for an Algortihm/Software Engineer in our Ypsilanti, MI location. This position has a massive C++ codebase, and the right candidate must be willing to dive right in. This is primarily heavy duty image processing code that crunches on big images.

MDA is an industry leader in earth observation remote sensing technology and image processing. We build satellite ground systems that enable users to acquire and process imagery from the most sophisticated Earth-observing satellites in the world: much of the satellite imagery that you see on Google Maps was generated by our software!

To be qualified you must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance within 18 Months.

Job Requirements
* In this position, you will be part of a team that designs and develops signal processing and data estimation algorithms, and codes them into software.
* Support of the technical lead in developing solutions to complex signal processing and data estimation problems.
* Independent development of algorithms that solve parts of the overall problem and that can be incorporated into the final solution.
* Coding of the resulting algorithms; assessment of the performance of the algorithms by running them over a range of input conditions and compiling results compared against ground truth.
* Developing and briefing material that describes the algorithms and their performance.

Qualifications:
* Required Skills: C++, JAVA
* Desired Additional Skills: Experience with MATLAB, ENVI, SOCET GXP, Excel, FORTRAN, hydrodynamic modeling and phenomenology.
* Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related specialized area (e.g., engineering, physics, math, computer science, etc.) or equivalent and 0-2 years related experience.
