Senior Software Engineer

Description:
As Senior Software Engineer, you will join our interdisciplinary team to conceptualize and author the technologies that power our trading activities in financial markets. As an integral member of an aggressive and nimble corporation, you will have the opportunity to tackle challenging problems in programming, networking, technology, mathematics and finance. Your initial responsibilities will include the development and improvement of our growing queue of critical trading applications that add significant value to Valkyrie’s bottom line.

Duties:
- Design extensible trading applications
- Implement quantitative, algorithmic trade logic
- Research new technologies that show promise in improving core trading systems

Requirements:
- Exceptional ability to produce clean, efficient code in C++ and C#
- Minimum 5 years of industry experience at 2 trading firms
- Experience in building a complete, multi-threaded trading system
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Ability to quickly deploy and consistently iterate on projects
- Excellent research, problem solving and quantitative skills
- Entrepreneurial attitude with a keen attention to both structure and detail
- Comfort with both Windows and Linux environments

Interview process:
1) 30 minute phone screen where we will go over your resume.
2) 30+ minute online technical quiz that can be completed at your own convenience. There will not be a time limit, but time stamps are recorded such that we will know how long you took on each question. We expect an exceptional candidate to take about 30 minutes to complete.
3) 2-3 hour on-site interview. First half will primarily be our developers to go over some technical questions. Second half will be with the partners of the firm as well as some traders.
