Chicago based high frequency trading firm is seeking software engineers (C++) with latency dependent trading systems experience.

Top Chicago based systematic trading firm is seeking an experienced software engineer for their low latency trading systems team. Candidates will work on a variety of systems and trading strategies across asset classes.

Candidates should hold a minimum of a BS in Computer Science and have 3+ years of experience developing software in industry with at least some experience working at a systematic trading platform. Candidates must be comfortable programming in C++/Linux in a low latency, multi-threaded environment.

It seems you are confused as to what "low level" means in the context of software development.
I love how they're asking for candidates with 3+ years of experience in a niche topic that only really became popular about 3 years ago.
