Job Summary & Responsibilities:

We are looking for a strong developer to play a key role in the Interest Rate Products front office technology team. This role requires extensive interaction with our traders and strategists, and will be a great opportunity for strong junior developers looking to hone their technical skills while increasing their commercial exposure and understanding of an extremely successful trading business. Our teams use both in-house and commercial technologies to implement and enhance critical trading systems for the various trading desks we support. These systems include intraday risk management and position keeping, trade booking, pricing and EOD processing applications.

Role Summary:

Development - Design, build and deploy critical trading applications, including intraday risk management and position keeping, trade booking, pricing and EOD processing applications. Development will be in Java, C# or in a proprietary language.
Analysis - Liaise with traders, salespeople, strategists, and operations users and other technology groups to determine development requirements, specifications and priorities.
Support - All members of our development teams rotate through support.

Basic Qualifications

Extremely strong technical and analytical skills (we are relatively agnostic to language)
1-5 years of professional development experience in an OO language (Java/C#)
First-degree in an analytical subject (CS, Math, Engineering, Finance etc)
Clear and confident communicator- essential as this role will require interaction with traders and strategists
Self-starter
Strong organizational skills
Team-centric
Comfortable in a high-pressure work environment

Preferred Qualifications

Proficient with relational databases

Desired Skills & Experience

Android; CS fundamentals and analytical abilities; C++, Java, or Python; Object Oriented Design; SQL and data modeling skills; commercial RDMBS; Service Oriented Architectures and RESTful services, and Linux/Unix
