google glass release date?

i have to do a report for my computer tech class on current technologies and i decided to do it on google glass. if someone could tell me what the release date was for when they went beta? i cant find it

i did but i couldnt find it. i was using ie so i dont know how search results differ from browser to browser. and thanks

follow up: when was it released for beta. there are already a few news articles of people testing them.
