Your work cubicle is situated next to, and in earshot, of a colleague who constantly complains about the difficulty of the very task you consider a walk in the park. You must his whining every day. Now comes the psychology,

I ask, it is possible, due to the constant claims the task is difficult, your mind may be involuntarily altered to find the task more difficult than it really is?

No, more likely the complaining will add to my ego since I find the task so easy.
