What are some sites to release open source projects to

what are some sites that allow you to release open source projects and uncompiled codes that have a pretty broad audience. Or do any such sites exists. Usually most projects have their own site that lists the build and has a forum and wiki and whatnot then other sites just mirror the open source project. Most sites just allow you to release a compiled build and offer little in the way of actual community outreach and interaction.
