Not sure if everyone knows but that was just a comedic video (By Tony Hawk) and the boards aren't actually real ;p. He has since then made an apology for toying with our hearts (I really really wanted one).

IFLS posted a link to a "hoverboard" that is based on mag lev tech, this one Tony hawk also featured in but it is a real board and development looks promising.

I hate to be that guy, but in all seriousness this technology sounds extremely impractical and overhyped to an extent.
I hope for this to become something that's actually usable later on in the future however.
