Does anyone now why people post their spam on this site?

For the past few days, I've been looking around this site jut for guidance o what project I should try next and I've discovered at least 20 spam posts. Why do people just post spam on this site. It seems kind of random to me.

Spam gets posted to all sites that allow users to sign up and post things. You just happened to notice it on this site before it got cleaned up. Spam doesn't discriminate.

@LB - A few hours ago I spotted a post here in the lounge which was titled "Character encoding", which I didnt think was a spam. Then I opened it and started reading a bit, and it wasnt spam text, not in my eyes atleast. But then at the end they just dropped a link to some kind of fast and furious movie crap, So basically I got tricked for the first time here :D I took a screenshot of the post just in case, what do you think? - http://gyazo.com/ae739c739c3b7f15b1a2db13ce6aff66

Spammers are using markov chains to generate posts that are similar to other posts in an attempt to poison certain spam filters.

For what it's worth, I'm working on a watchdog bot to alert me when spam is posted. It wont automatically report things it thinks it's spam, I'll still have to pull the trigger. But, if I'm awake, chances are I'm at my computer so I should be able to report spam about as quickly as it's posted.

Honestly I was sort of shocked the first time I saw spam on here. I thought this forum was on it's own quiet "plot of land" on the internet and never would've thought there would be spam but

So just report any spam posts you see to keep the site clean - I've seen some programming forums so bad that people just gave up and it's all spam.
With a name like C++.com, you would expect this site to be "on the radar" for everyone and everything. Just be glad we only get as much as we do. With how weak the account registration captcha is, it could be much worse.

That's very true, but the site just has a tight-knit community feel. You see a lot of the same people posting regularly, the site itself has a very "old/classic" design to it. It just doesn't look like it'd be a target at first glance.
@Tarik - Actually with the "Report" sitting at the bottom, it feels like they copied/pasted from another post then just shoved their link at the bottom.

It is a copy of this http://www.cplusplus.com/forum/lounge/158471/
Well, I've learned something interesting.

I think I'll have some fried SPAM for dinner.

I said this before in another thread, but is there a good reason why the new ReCaptcha couldn't be required for posting up until a certain post count?
