Does anybody know any solid windows.h tutorials? I am really just looking for ow to make a text box, and load a image to the inside of my window(covering the whole inside of it of course).

Do you mean skinning a application? Can you please show us a example or something which is similar to your thoughts.

Next look at forgers Windows API book it contains all important GUI elements.

If you want a beginner's guide to Windows API, then try out source forge's tutorial ( http://www.winprog.org/tutorial/start.html )
It would be best if you start from the beginning and work your way to the bitmaps page, but there is a link to the left that would get you to the start of the bitmaps tutorial.
Also Petzold's Programming Windowns 5th edition is always on the recommended list of books to read.
