What is the line number of the error?

However, line 217: you cannot add two c-string pointer. Especially not if one of them is a wstring. You can do it like so:

("armyops.exe" + sIP).c_str()

but this requires a std::string without the w.
the error is line 217 the issue at this point isnt even the c-string pointer i cannot even get it to work like this

You need to add using namespace System::Diagnostics;
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.diagnostics.process%28v=vs.110%29.aspx

In general it's better to avoid unmanaged C++ code in .NET until there is no other way - like WritePrivateProfileString
i get the same error coming from the same if statement.
Because you're doing the same thing with another variable.

What you're actually doing is:

const char * + const wchar_t *

Again for system(...) you need a std::string not std::wstring

Why don't you use the ShellExecute(...) function?
Thomas that works great!

Thanks For the replies! and Thomas thank you for solving 2 of my posts :D .

i didnt use ShellExecute because it was giving me multiple errors and the way i had it with the system command i was only getting one.

the only c++ experience i have was a highschool course which was mostly console programs (calculator, tic-tac-toe, etc) and one windows forms application it was a organizer for music lol

that being said im a complete noob :P, thanks again for the help.
1 error is better than 2 :D

Try ShellExecuteW(...)

You should really understand the difference between std::string and std::wstring:
