Just a bit of cynicism: why is it a Merry Christmas? Is there any particular reason for this, is it just a feeling that Christmas should be happy?
Sorry if I offend anyone, but I was talking to a friend about this just a while ago, and I want to see peoples thoughts.

It's "Merry" Christmas for the same reason you wish people a "good" day.

It is Merry as in to 'make merry' - celebrate noisily, often indulging in drinking; engage in uproarious festivities.
Anyway, Have a good one, one and all.

Do you live in Indonesia maybe near the coast? I got it by tracking your time with my time then looking for times zones similar to yours.

I hope everyone keeps their wits about them tonight. DUI offenses and children that you can't remember making will haunt you long into the new year and beyond.
Stay safe everyone.
Party time!
